What you'll do

Enjoy the opportunity to witness rare geological activity and stunning lava flows. Experience the raw power of mother nature as you see lava spewing from the volcano. Be amazed by glowing rivers of molten rock which will cool and harden to create entirely new landscapes. Geldingadalur had not erupted for around 6,000 years before 2021.

★ BASE TOUR ★
✔Start with a pickup in Reykjavík before heading on a scenic drive surrounded by breathtaking views. The first stop is Lake Kleifarvatn, where you will enjoy scenes of the black beach and surrounding mountains.

✔A little further along the south coast of the peninsula, the tour stops at the beautiful geothermal area of Krýsuvík.

✔Next, get your hiking gear on and hike towards Geldingadalur Valley to see live volcanic activity. You will be able to enjoy your packed lunch on the hike while seeing lava flowing from the volcano.

✔You'll then get to see and feel the Gunnuhver Hot Springs, where boiling waters and steam will reignite your senses.

✔Then we´'ll stop by the photogenic Reykjanesviti Light House.

✔The last stop before heading back to Reykjavík is the Bridge Between Continents where you can walk from one plate to the other and have a fun photo opportunity.

Hi there! I’m Konrad, your local tour guide and Icelandic nature expert.
After attending the University of Reykjavik, I began working in the tourism industry, which led to me become the CEO of one of the largest tour operators in the entire country.
Since leaving that position, I’ve dedicated my time to entrepreneurial pursuits in the travel, tech, and sustainable transportation industries. As a part of that, I offer eco-friendly tours to give visitors a chance to see the best that Iceland has to offer, while also ensuring that we all take care of the island I’m so grateful to call home.

I highly recommend this tour! Our host was very friendly all of the time, and committed to the time we were willing to spend on each destination. He was very knowledgeable and shared interesting facts about Iceland, while at the same time giving us privacy to enjoy ourselves for a bit on each location. Conversations were great, and he always made sure we were safe at all times.

Konrad was extremely nice from the beginning till the end. We had a nice chat all day about many different topics related to Iceland or not. He drove me smoothly around several places (the electric car does its job well !), explaining how they were relevant for the region or for Iceland. We hiked towards the volcano and even if it was mostly cloudy that day, we had some moments to see it erupting. We shared the meal and beverages, which allowed me to have a taste of some Icelandic snacks and sandwiches, as I had forgotten to take mine. A genuinely nice experience that I would recommend!
