What you'll do

Welcome refreshments and pastries upon arrival. Then out to meet the llamas. First, a talk on llamas and their origins, what they eat and drink, the various parts of their bodies and some telltale characteristics that help us understand how the llama is feeling. Once everyone is comfortable being near the llamas, we will head into the paddocks to actually meet them and give them carrot and parsnip pieces. Up close and personal like this is the best way to actually experience the benefits of being around llamas. Here are the benefits: For mental health –  Decreases isolation and depression  Causes many to feel calm  Bridges communication gaps  Provides comfort  Reduces boredom  Lowers anxiety and decreases agitation After spending time with the llamas, it's time for lunch: a traditional cream tea, with sandwiches, scones, clotted cream, strawberries and cakes. Please ensure you let us know of any dietary requirements. The total experience will last approximately 3 hours.

Learn more about Tina

Tina

Hi, I am Tina. I own a herd of 9 llamas... three male and six female. I am now a Director on the Board of The British Llama Society, the UK Breed's National Society. I was the editor of its quarterly magazine and I show my llamas at various national agricultural shows. I, therefore, have a lot of knowledge about llamas, their origins, their characters and personalities and how to care for them. I have taken one of my llamas to food and craft fairs, and to a couple of retirement home to meet the residents.

Things to keep in mind

Cancellation policy

Any experience can be cancelled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase, or at least 7 days before the experience starts.

Communication policy

Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside the Airbnb website or app.

Guest requirements

Up to 10 guests of all ages can attend. Guests with children must ensure they are supervised at all times. Llamas love children, but not children running around making lots of noise... it scares them.

What to bring

Waterproof coat and wellington boots (if weather is going to be wet)

More tips

Llamas are very timid, gentle, calm and quiet animals. They do not spit at or hurt humans. Consider glamping as well: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/24826513?s=51
