What you'll do
To start with we will make sure you're well equipped for the weather - You'll need to come wearing welly boots, warm layers and waterproofs. Dress appropriately for the weather on the day. We do have spare kit but we don't always have the right size boots/ coats to lend out so you're best bet is to come prepared for wind, hail, sunshine and snow! Once you're kitted up we will go and let out the hens, collect the eggs and weigh them out on the egg grader ready for sale to our local customers. We will then go and check on the goats and sheep with the sheepdogs and watch a little bit of sheepdog training/work. We will then head inside for a breakfast of dippy eggs and soldiers with eggs from the hens you've just met and bread from the bakers down the road.

Dot At Cronkshaw Fold Farm
I was born and raised here at the farm and have been training working sheepdogs from a young age, including training dogs for national sheepdog trial winner Thomas Longton. I have a deep knowledge of the flora and fauna here in the South Pennines. The farm itself is on the edge of Holcombe Moor site of special scientific interest which is protected by law due to the abundance of rare wildlife that can be found here. My family have been working farms in this area for over 4 generations.

Where you'll be
Once you're parked up and ready to go we will go round most of the farm so you will get to see the stunning landscape of the west Pennine Moors and our beautiful Alden Valley where the farm is situated.
