What you'll do
After a short briefing we will depart from Ubud on small country roads and head towards the mountains. The scenery is beautiful: groves of palm trees and rice fields. There is a hilly landscape with rice fields, literally thousands years old! We do a leisurely easy trek for 45 min and you will get introduced to a very sophisticated natural irrigation system and a lot of tropical plants and fruits. After the trek ends the Safari Jeeps will pick you up and drive you to a 900 year old meditation cave, mostly unknown to the tourists. From there we are reaching out to the mysterious world of Bali's volcanoes. We drive into the 28000 year old caldera of Kintamani, and cross the wild extraordinary lava fields at the slope of Mt Batur. We do photo stops and walks along the way. Later we have a delicious lunch buffet on the rim of the caldera with amazing vistas. The way back to Ubud is as beautiful as the way up and we pass old Balinese villages and incredible scenery. We visit an old temple with a purifying holy spring and weathered old overgrown antic statutes. If time allows, we finally visit a plantation with all kind of spices and tropical fruits at the end of our jeep tour.
