What you'll do
We'll spend an evening brewing a batch of beer. You will have the opportunity to learn what goes into brewing your own beer from start to finish. Under my guidance you will add the ingredients, stir the wort (what we call the product before fermentation turns it into beer), and have a chance to ask any questions you want about the process. I am not allowed to sell beer without a license, however, if you have a favorite beer, you are welcome to bring it and we can share our favorites with anyone who is over 21.
TJ started brewing beer while living in Japan. TJ and a couple of friends realized they couldn't get much beer, but could brew their own, so they started experimenting. Since moving to Portland, the microbrew and homebrew capitol of the country, TJ has continued to brew beer, often with his friends. TJ has experimented with a wide variety of styles, including barely wines, stouts, spiced holiday beer, beer with marijuana and a gluten free beer, but not including IPAs, there are already way too many of those. Most of them turned out great. The gluten free beer needs a little more help.
I'll provide light snacks. Please let me know if you have any dietary restrictions.

Where you'll be
We will be brewing beer in my kitchen or on my patio (if the weather is nice). My kitchen is brand new in a 100+ year old house that I am working on bringing back to life.
