What you'll do
We will meet on the steps of Parliament House and then wander down to meet some of the pioneering women remembered on North Terrace. Our route will then take us down King William Street before we end up at a location where were women were once banned. Along the way you will be introduced to some of the pioneering women of South Australia, find out about some of the firsts for women that started here from police officers to rape in marriage laws. It will be time for a drink and a toast to your grandmothers, mothers and all the women to come to build a future that is equal and equitable for all!
I am the founder of Chooks SA, a movement bringing social enterprises and start up female founders together. I am passionate about gender equity and South Australia. I have run for parliament, served as a Chief of Staff in government as well as decades of mothering and volunteering. I know what it takes to run a State, a home , a family and a community. I was a finalist in last year's Winnovation Awards and Westpac Changemaker Fellowship. I am a co-founder of Collab4Good a unique female founders co-working space and mentor a number of female founded social enterprises.

Where you'll be
Meet at Parliament House, by the Old Chamber. This is the location of the first parliament in Australia for women to be able to vote and second in the world. It is also the location of the first place laws were passed for women to be able to stand for Parliament.

The walk takes around 70 minutes and it is optional to stay and buy a drink and have a chat at the last destination which will be near the General Post Office in the city.
