I am a retired educator with a degree in Earth Sciences. Coordinated and taught classes in the natural sciences for the Puyallup Public Schools and the Pacific Science Center. What we’ll do

Our adventure begins with an orientation to to the natural and historical evolution of Eagle Island. During the last ice age glaciers carved out Puget Sound leaving harder soils to form a chain of islands stretching from here to Alaska. Native Americans harvested sea life from these waters. There is a 50 step staircase to the beach. Batch Passage by Eagle Island has currents during tidal changes. The air is cooler on the water which is in the low 50’s year around. Dress comfortably.

Eagle Island State Marine Park is only accessible by small watercraft. There are 4 mooring buoys on the perimeter.
