What you'll do

You will be welcomed at our farm where I'll be pleased to start the experience offering you a cup of coffee before visiting our cellar and garden where we'll pick the herbs to use for the class.
I'll show you how to make pizza starting from scratch, using water, flour and the sourdough that was originally created 100 years ago.
I'll explain and provide the ingredients needed, the full process and methods, included all the tricks and how to use all the necessary tolls.
Eventually we will flatten the dough and bake the pizzas in our wood fired oven.
And now it's time to enjoy a fantastic handmade pizza with a nice glass of our organic wine.
This experience also includes a pice of local cake and limoncello.

Hi, I am Rosanna.
My family has been running a farm on the Amalfi Coast for the last four generations: our main focus is offering excellent traditional food and wine produced from organic ingredients grown in our farm.
Every week we make pizza starting from scratch and eventually we bake the pizzas in our wood fired oven.
This has always been our family tradition and I would like to share this experience with you teaching the skills and tricks necessary to make a delicious authentic Neapolitan pizza.

We really enjoyed this experience and learnt a lot. The only downside was having to leave early to catch a bus but the hosts made sure we didn't miss out on anything and even drove us to the bus stop.

This will be the most exciting day of your trip! We spent the entire day with them learning about wine and how to make pizza and cheese. It was an awesome experience!

Rosannas husband, Pasquale, was responsible for the pizza-making. In the beginning, the class was lacking some structure and we did not get to do everything as it was described. When we told him that, however, in the end their daughter Martina caught up on that: She took us to their cellar and explained us everything about their „business“. It was extremely interesting and astonishing to hear about how really everything they use is home-made and ecological. The whole family is passionate about it and this eventually made us feel to be included in something really special!

The Pizza class is offered by Pasquale (Rosanna's husband) and with his son and daughter they explain how to make Pizza. In the beginning, we were a bit in a rush (everybody is hungry, right?) but after eating there is some more time for asking questions etc. Additional advice: Ask him for his great Ricotta cheese. He is making everything by his own. Unfornuteately, we could not bring Ricotta home because we travelled with hand luggage only. However, we took some other cheese home, which was great too.

A fantastic venture into yeast-culturing, stone-oven cooking, and types of flour, with demonstrations in base twirling and why not to overload your pizza with toppings! Pasquale and his family were excellent hosts, supplying us with an endless supply of homemade white and red wine, limoncello, and a surprise tiramisu dessert as well as the pizza that we mixed, pressed out and topped ourselves. We were also given a guided tour of the cellar, where cheeses, cured meats, jams, passatas and the wines were being prepared, and made to feel at home.

If I could rate this experience higher I would. 5 stars does not feel like enough. We spent 2 and half weeks in Italy and this was one of the top things we did. First you are welcomed into their home like old friends. Martina (daughter) then took us up the road from the house to a beautiful overlook. From here you could see Amalfi. Oh, also there is a small castle/lookout that is being restored at the top of the road. We also visited their goats, pony, and donkey on our walk. Once back at the house Pasquale (father) taught us how to make pizza dough. We also toured their cellar as they make their own wine. My husband and I were lucky enough to be the inaugural group to make our pizza's at the family's newly acquired property at the top to the hill (short drive from the house). The view from here was amazing!! We made the pizzas, drank fantastic wine (Pasquale's own), and enjoyed the company of Rosanna and her family and a few friends who heard were were making pizza :) We got to meet all of the family throughout the evening which was so special. My only regret was that we had not realized they also rented rooms to stay over night. Neither my husband or I were ready to leave when the night was over, so staying would have certainly been worth it! Again, do not hesitate to book this experience. It is unlike anything I have had the opportunity to do.
