What you'll do

We begin our evening paddle with a short lesson in basic canoe skills. With our newly acquired skills we'll navigate the gentle currents of the Ottawa River, for a unique viewing perspective of the Parliament buildings, Museum of Civilization, Royal Canadian Navy Monument and National art Gallery. Depending on skills, comfort and weather conditions we may create a canoe catamaran for our short "canoe trip". A canoe catamaran is fun to paddle and very stable, so it's the perfect craft for sight seeing and relaxing and swimming from. The evening sun creates such picturesque lighting that, weather permitting, you might capture some truly unique photos of your visit to Ottawa. We’ll return to our starting point to congratulate each other on being able to steer a canoe or catamaran in a (somewhat:) straight line.

Where you'll be

We'll begin our experience tucked into a secluded inlet on the Ottawa river. Then we'll paddle into the ottawa river to pass below the Parliament buildings, Museum of Civilization, Royal Canadian Navy Monument and National Art Gallery and the Rideau canal locks. A short paddle returns us to our starting point behind the National Archives building.
