What you'll do

Come take a walk through Hungarian history and understand one of the most misunderstood nations in the world.

Whether you’ve barely heard of Hungary or if you’re a Budapest expert, this experience is tailored to suit all. I have a base frame of how, why and where I will take you, and upon this your questions and interests build the rest of each unique experience.

During our walk we will cover about 6 kilometres and over 1100 years of history. Rather than just giving “dates, names and a TripAdvisor Top 10” my aim is to give a real taste of the rich Hungarian culture, life and history that will stay with you long after the tour ends. The way I wish to do this is by taking knowledge you already know and building on that, or in some cases, turning it upside down.

At the end of the experience you’ll come away with an understanding of the past (from the nomadic tribe in search of the Golden Stag to Ottoman Rule, the Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy and the Russian Era of Communism) and you will witness how these events of the past millennium have formed the present people, places and buildings that we will see, and you will continue to see all around you during your time in Hungary.

Born and raised in Hungary, I moved to Australia and completed high school, a Bachelor’s in Commerce and a Master’s in Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Melbourne before travelling Asia and Latin America. Having spent literally half my life working, studying and living in each of the two countries, Hungary and Australia, I can give you objective insights into what makes Hungary so unique in the world and why it has so little in common with its Eastern European neighbors unlike our Germanic, Balkan and Slavic neighbors, who share high degrees of similarity in comparison.

Adam was so passionate to tell the history of hungary! I loved that he gave us a brief chronological history of hungary so we wouldn’t be confused as there is a lot in one session! Too bad that it was his last tour but we were lucky we had him! We absolutely loved it and I recommend this tour in the begging of your trip to just get the feeling of how you want to plan your trip and what to see in beautiful Budapest

Adam’s walking tour was one of the best I’ve ever been on. He did an excellent job walking our group through Hungary’s history and showing important sites along the way. Lucked out on this being his last tour before moving out of the country. Thank you again!

Fantastic tour! Very informative; Adam knows a lot about Budapest and Hungary’s history. He’s friendly and engaging and would highly recommend. I don’t think you’d get the same experience from a tour company.

Adam was an amazing guide! We learned so much about Hungary’s history and culture. It really was an amazing tour. We will leave Budapest with a greater understanding of the country itself and also the city of Budapest!

We had a really nice time and were learning a lot of new interesting things. The walk was very structured and the presented facts were highly fascinating. As it was a very small group one didn’t got the feeling of a tourist tour. It was more like a stroll through the city with a highly educated Hungarian friend.

Adam is an exceptionally awesome tour guide! I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get a better sense of the unique history of Hungary and how that permeates through everything you will see in Budapest. He's super passionate about his country and that definitely shows through. Best done as an orientation to the city. You will not be dissapointed.
