What you'll do

We will walk along the wooded paths near the beautiful lake Llyn Mair. I will provide basics for the day - a stool, a small sketchbook and drawing pencils - bring your own art materials if you wish.

We will combine walking with sketching, finding lovely places to be quiet in nature. I will help you find your own way of drawing what you see and expressing what you feel, writing a little about your experience as well.
You can take home the sketchbook to sketch in new places if you wish.

To take advantage of the weather, you can book any time up until 9am on the day itself.
Other things to note
I am happy to teach drawing at all levels, let me know if you are a beginner or experienced. The session will help you look, choose subjects, develop composition, markmaking, tone and skills.

I studied Fine Art at St Martin's School of Art and regularly exhibit paintings and artists books. I am an experienced tutor teaching Fine Art for the Open College of Arts for ten years and since 1998-present on the part-time BA Fine Art Degree at Bangor University. I also teach from my studio in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and art courses in SW Spain.
I love walking in all the seasons and believe that through drawing you can see and experience a place in a special way. This session will help you to develop skills so you can connect with nature and sketch on your travels.
