About your host

I am a Canadian stand-up comedian and an award-winning speaker. I'm also an Airbnb Superhost. :) During the 1990s I spent two years as a tour guide at two of Niagara's best museums. I have been living in Scotland for the past 6 years, and I see no reason why facts always have to make history boring. On our tour I will bring the history of the Highlands to life. What we’ll do

As a comedian, and an experienced tour guide, you'll get the best of both worlds: a humorous and largely "fact-free" interpretation of Inverness's major local landmarks and key turning points in local history. What else you should know

Invented Inverness is a light-hearted look at history. Please arrive with an open mind and enjoy a humorous look at the history of the Highland capital. We'll have a nice walk, and lots of laughs!

What to bring

Please dress for the weather. Inverness can be cool even in the height of summer. Wear sensible shoes, and a waterproof jacket. We will be walking for approximately 1 hour, with frequent stops.

Where you'll be

We'll visit Inverness Castle and I will explain how it's not really a castle at all! We'll visit one of the statues near the castle, and I'll explain how an important figure was overlooked. We'll cross the River Ness so we can admire the unsurpassed view of the Castle from the River, and then visit a number of other important sites along Church Street before finishing near my favourite pub. *Many 'facts' will be exploited for comedic effect!
