What you'll do

Do you know that the sacred city of the Aztecs is still beneath us? We will discover the remains of Tenochtitlan still present in Mexico City, to understand the span and magnificence of Aztec Empire. We´ll explain the different periods of time, to understand the history of the Mexicas, followed by the conquest, the Colonialism and modern México. We start at Templo Mayor, then we visit the archaeological windows on Argentina Street, CCE, Palacio Nacional and the Cathedral. All of them will serve as time capsules that will let us understand the size and real magnificence of the ancient city. We will also explain the arrival of the Spaniard and the destruction of the old city. The establishment of the colony will be explained in the Metropolitan Cathedral, Plaza Santo Domingo and Church of the Enseñanza. Allong every site we will complement with information from recent archaeological discoveries and the most recent information about Mexican archaeology. We will visit Diego Rivera´s murals inside Palacio Nacional to understand modern Mexico To finish the tour, we will chill out at a Traditional Cantina, were we can chat about modern Mexico; from politics to pop culture.

I am Art conservator. I have been working and studying in archeological sites for many years now, expert in conservation and restoration of artifacts and sites. Passionate about the Mexican culture and sharing the knowledge and the history of my beautiful country. I have worked in many archaeological sites in Mexico and Latin America, including Templo Mayor. So, I have the inside information of the whole story!
