What you'll do
Elvis sang about Las Vegas as the "Bright Light City," because Neon gave this place its electric personality and its flair for the spectacular. My nighttime walking tour of Fremont Street is a 2-hour trek down one of the most famous Neon Streets of all time. We start at twilight with a complimentary drink at an historic bar where I'll share my own love of neon that began when I helped start the Neon Museum Boneyard. Once on Fremont Street, we'll see the historic El Cortez Hotel signage that is our crown jewel, now on the National Register. Then it's on to Glitter Gulch with its 10 famous casinos that showcase the most beautiful signs you've ever seen. Alas, remember this, here are the last great Las Vegas neon signs still working. Today, Fremont is an electric carnival, a pedestrian mall where everything performs including the giant overhead video screen with shows nightly. We'll see flare bartenders, ziplining tourists and zany street Buskers. But the Main Show is the glorious neon, a dazzling place unlike any other. We end the tour with a cocktail at another famous bar, with a not-so-secret Mobster connection, with a toast to friendship and the fabulous neon signs of Las Vegas.
I have a story to tell about Downtown, and its all about neon, local history and Vegas cocktail culture. I'm an artist and a cultural planner who had the cool job of running the Neon Boneyard when it first opened. Now I have a small walking tour company - offering an evening stroll down Fremont Street to see the worlds most beautiful neon- stopping along the way at some cool bars. I'm from Santa Fe, and came here for a job I couldn't refuse. I fell in love with this enigmatic city - a city of dreams and conflicting realities - a place that always offers adventure and a good story or two.

Where you'll be
Fremont is our Neon Broadway. At nighttime the worlds most amazing signs flicker on and the place becomes a magical streetscape put together with lights, architecture and zany street performers. My 2 hour tour is built around the spectacle of neon but Fremont Street offers so much more, and once you take it all in, you will have a better understanding of what makes this city unique and ever endearing to locals and to visitors.

I have a basic tour itinerary but because Fremont is always performing, the tour can change a bit depending on what is happening. But it's always fun, full of spectacle, with lots of local insights.
