What you'll do

I will get you settled into our farm and answer questions regarding our farm and alpacas. We will discuss alpaca fiber, care, and safety when handling them. Next, let’s get started!! We will get started working with the alpacas. You will learn safe capturing and haltering. I will teach you about each animal and their personality. We will then venture out on a walk around our farm. You MUST wear close-toed shoes for our hike, hiking boots or boots are best. Our property is very rocky with hilly terrain. If the creek is low we likely will cross this as well. We will stop for light snacks and a sip of sweet tea at the end. There will be many chances for wonderful pictures and selfies with our precious alpacas!

Kati

We have been a busy little farm since 2012. We have a small herd of 18 alpacas that produce beautiful fiber. Our alpacas are gentle, timid boys. We love to talk about them and share them with others. I have a son that is a pediatric cancer survivor. I am a cancer mom on a mission!!! I sell our alpaca products to raise funds to help support other families affected by childhood cancer! Our farm is quite get-away from a busy life. Spending time with animals can be very therapeutic and we welcome those wanting to interact with our animals.

Where you'll be

The alpaca hike will be held on our farm. We will meet in our large red barn. We have alpacas, goats, and sheep. The activity will be in the covered barn and the hike will take place on our property. Please dress accordingly with closed toe shoes. Please dress for the weather! The alpacas are okay with being cold and wet, they are not native Texans! LOL You may bring a small serving of wine if you’d like to finish the hike with snacks and cheers
