What you'll do
We will meet by the Chelsea Piers Carousel(Chelsea Sports Complex,Chelsea, NYC), and walk Dusty on the waterfront park towards battery park city (downtown). Prior to starting, and based on your walking/hiking ability, we will walk as the whole way or as far as you can. We pause for water breaks (for dusty and for ourselves) and carry Dusty for a while if he gets tired. These walks are not a race, but a simple journey for Dusty and for our thoughts. We will accompany you, listen if you want to talk, or just be there to help you with walking Dusty. As noted earlier, we are not grief counselors, but volunteers who are grieving or have grieved and are offering these walks for others grieving like ourselves. For some of us, our loss was recent and for others many years ago, so there is zero judgement on how long ago your loss occurred or who you are grieving for. Dusty can never take away the pain anyone of us feels from the loss of our loved ones, but he can get us to focus on the moment with him. My Grief Angels is a non-profit for and by people grieving, and our volunteers are just people are grieving themselves or have grieved, and not mental health professionals of any type. All contributions to this experience go directly to fund the efforts of the 501(c)3 Non-profit MyGriefAngels.org
