What you'll do
We'll meet up at around two hours before dusk at our place near Nacka nature reserve, take the bus or drive to a start off point and hike into one of Stockholm's many doorstep wilderness areas. We'll have a quick cake and tea, discuss our route and then head off into the wilderness. After a hike of around 5 km, we'll set up camp, light a fire and cook our simple, hearty meal. A good night's sleep in the hotel of a thousand stars. Coffee/tea and snack for breakfast, pack up, hike back into civilisation and hop on the bus/drive back to town in time for work or play.
I am a trained, professional expedition guide and mountain leader. While I earn my main living leading groups in far off places such as Kilimanjaro, Svalbard, Nepal and the high Atlas with Sweden’s leading expedition touring company, I understand that a worthwhile adventure can be right outside your front door. Make the most of Stockholm's breathtaking natural beauty and go for a hike in the city's rurban spaces. We'll hike, light a fire, eat, sleep and return to the city in time for work or play. I’m here to help your stay in Stockholm lean a little more on the Wild Side.

The magical Tyresta national park - notable for hosting one of the largest coniferous old-growth forests in southern Sweden, with some pine trees up to 400 years old. Up to 8.000 species of animals can be found in this primeval forest which features cool lakes, remote swimming spots and a haunting charred landscape after a major 1998 fire. We will pick and hike to a suitable overnight spot by one of the lakes dotted through the park.

Charlie, August 2016: This is great for anyone who wants to explore the outdoors but doesn't have immediate access to all the equipment or much time. This was the highlight of my Scandinavian trip.
