Traditional Japanese instruments, Koto

Duration:2 hours total
Includes:Drinks and Equipment
Languages:Offered in English

About your host

I have studied koto in Japan for 8 years and have a diploma. In Japan, I experienced performance at several events every season and received a performance offer in Germany as well. Although there have the opportunity to hear Kotone outside of Japan,, there are not many experiences to actually play the koto. But you can experience it here. Let's enjoy the sound of traditional Japanese instruments…

What we’ll do

In the room where the koto is installed I will explain what kind of instruments are the koto and how to play the koto. Next is the time you actually play. It is very simple, please play with confidence. By the end of the experience, you can play at least one song.

What else you should know

We prepare KotoPick(finger pointing type), but please understand beforehand that you play the koto with your fingers if the size does not fit. There is only one koto. So the performance is one by one.

What I’ll provide

Drinks
Coffee, tea, water If you need milk or sugar for coffee or tea, it will be coconut milk and brown sugar. Water is not carbonated water.
Equipment
KotoPick

Where you'll be

The place to experience is releasing my house. Warm sunshine and refreshing wind blow in from the window, it is a very comfortable space.
