What you'll do
Each guest will learn to build two craft cocktails from start to finish, using ingredients you can find in your own kitchen. With spirits distilled in Georgia as our base, you’ll learn techniques of culinary bartending, like how to infuse spirits with roots, delicate herbs, and dried spices, how to prepare scratch-made syrups, shrubs, orgeats, and oleos, and how to use fresh vegetables and fruits in cocktails, along with the bar basics of building, stirring, shaking, and garnishing. While we mix, we’ll serve you some of our best-selling chaat – crunchy, spicy, sweet, tangy, brightly flavored Indian street snacks. The class will end just as the restaurant opens for evening service, in case you feel like dinner! While our mixology is inspired by the flavors of Indian Street Food, the techniques you learn are easily adapted to other ingredients. Each guest will leave with recipe cards for at-home re-creation and further inspiration.
Chai Pani Decatur is Indian street food from thrice James Beard nominated Chef Meherwan Irani. As bar director, I love creating culinary cocktails that rise to the level of our cuisine. Think turmeric-infused vodka, fresh cilantro shaken with elderflower liqueur, and juiced ginger blended with jaggery and coconut. I moonlight as an Airbnb superhost, and have welcomed hundreds of Airbnb guests into my five-star-rated log cabin outside of Atlanta.
