What we’ll do
We'll meet up at King's Buildings House on the University of Edinburgh King's Buildings site. From there we will head up Blackford Hill first via the pavements before hitting the grassy slopes near the Royal Observatory. From here we will walk up to the summit of Blackford Hill, which has views over Edinburgh and as far as some of the major mountains of the Scottish Highlands (cloud permitting!)…
What else you should know
A moderate hike with sections of steep walking up and downhill over 6 km (4 miles). The paths are rocky and may be muddy and wet in places, so PLEASE wear suitable clothing and footwear.
What to bring
Waterproofs (it is Scotland and I'll walk in any weather!)
Snacks (can be picked up at KB House)
Something to drink (can be picked up at KB House)
Suitable footwear for rocky and rough ground
Hat and gloves
