What you'll do
I am very excited to host a trip for those history and Korea lovers! Take the opportunity to discover Korea for a depth of knowledge you will later take pride in :-) For my trip, I'd like to cover the topics below: - Contemporary Korean history: Major events that happened about 100 years ago - The chaotic period that forced transition and transformation - Geopolitical dynamics of East Asia and survivorship of Korea - Colonialism/imperialism of Japan and other empires Here are some of the key questions I intend to address during the trip: - What were Korea's effort and strategy to survive the adversities? - What drives yearnings for independence? - How did Westernization and its values impact on Korea's independence? - How was Japanese colonialism similar with/different from others? *If you have watched K-drama "Mr. Sunshine" this trip will serve you as a knowledge booster. ** If you are multiple guests and hope to visit at times other than allocated slots, I am open to change my time and day schedule.
I am a history lover who wants to exchange the knowledge of Korean history with those who love to discover the defining moments of Korea in its contemporary settings. While I was born, raised in Seoul Korea for over 20 years, deeply ingrained in the Korean culture, I also raised bilingual skills and a bicultural perspective studying abroad in the US for almost a decade. I am confident in sharing the history in the deepest knowledge insiders can garner but with a foreigner's approach to it. As a government-certified travel guide, I am willing to make your time meaningful. You can check where I travel domestically by checking at https://www.instagram.com/koreadigest/
