What we’ll do

Discover the ancient technique of lost wax casting - a process that bronze sculptors and glass sculptors have practiced for millennia - that enables the artist to create an exact copy of a found object, whether that be a pine cone, apple or even a baby’s foot! The earliest recorded example of lost wax casting goes as far back as 6,000 years ago. At first we’ll walk through the process. I will…

What else you should know

Wear clothes you’re happy to get dirty. Art’s a messy business! Best not to wear high heals. Note that your hands and fingernails may get dirty. We’ll be working with clay, alginate and plaster.

What I’ll provide

Snacks
Sparkling water Juice

What to bring

A souvenir they may want to make a copy of, no larger than 12cm

Where you'll be

Guests will love the location. It is set in a quiet, shared courtyard, formerly a Whisky distillery built in 1600! This Distillery was operational for 350 years, then converted in the late 90s into a courtyard environment tucked away from busy streets. We can see fields and the Lomond hills beyond. My home, studio and bijou gallery are based here. Guests have access to the kitchen and facilities in my home during the experience.
