What you'll do

Do you want to walk down the streets of Harajuku looking all fashionable? Take home the new look of Kimono fashion, created especially for you all under JPY10,000! You will leave the secondhand Kimono shop knowing that they can be expressed in ways that you can`t imagine. Then, learn some tips on how to use the accessories, called “obi”, as you sit and have Japanese tea of your choice. An English summary will be provided. Obis can be a little tricky, so the experienced instructor will show you how! If you`d like, you can learn how to wear Kimonos using your own accessories to replace the obi so that you can enjoy wearing Kimonos where ever you are. At last, take a pose or two and show the world your new Japanese look, all done at a beautiful shrine. ・If you have any concerns, please let us know in advance, so that you can enjoy your time here with us. ・You will meet Hiromi, who will be supporting us with our English conversation during class time. She will be available to answer to any questions on the day of class.

Hi, I`m Yuki and I`m a certified Kimono instructor. I wear Kimono on a daily basis - at least 200 days a year! Japanese Kimonos are beautiful, and they shouldn`t be limited to the old fashion way. I`d like to show you how they can be worn in modern street style! If you`re going to visit Japan, you just have to try out these Kimonos, as they are the traditional clothing of Japan! Once you know the simple techniques on how to use different accessories, you too will be able to wear Kimonos casually, while still valuing the traditional way.
