What you'll do

Almost everyone comes to Philly for the amazing history! But not many people get to see the real-life neighborhood that the Historic District is part of. On this tour, we'll take you to many of those Must See places (Independence Hall, the Betsy Ross House, Christ Church and more), but we'll also show you *our* favorite places in the Old City neighborhood - an adorable coffee shop, charming back streets, early 1900's warehouses that have been converted into apartments, a world-famous mosaic mural by Maxfield Parrish, awesome restaurants and shopping, and lots more! We end our time together at one of our favorite brewpubs with a local beer (or soft drink) included for you!

While the main focus of this tour is Philadelphia's history, we'll will certainly share lots of our own favorite tidbits about Old City and you'll have plenty of time to ask questions while enjoying your drink at the end. If you're looking to cover all the historical highlights, but don't want the same-old same-old, this is the experience for you! Let us show you the local side of Philly!
Other things to note
This tour runs rain or shine, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
Personal shopping, additional food and drinks, and gratuity are not included. Some churches may not be open to us on a Sunday.

Where you'll be

In addition to many of the Must See Sights, you'll also get to explore some of the incredible hidden gems that only locals know about. You'll peek inside an unassuming office building to see a world-famous mosaic, you can grab a local coffee at one of our favorite tiny cafes, we'll wander down charming historic alleys, you'll hear stories that aren't in the guidebooks, and you'll get to try a local beer and hang out for awhile when we're done!

Josh was a kind and very well informed guide. I was in awe with the amount of knowledge (ranging from history, architecture, social justice issues, etc.) he had not only of Philly but of other parts of the world as well! He constantly made sure we were safe and was eager to answer any questions and followed up via email adding a very nice personalization. Thank you Josh, this was definitely a highlight of my trip in Philly!

Dick did a great job on our tour! everything he told me was new information even as a philly resident! he let us know when we were passing bathrooms (a must for me lol) and the places we were allowed to enter were so lovely. only thing that could have been better was more places to visit inside, but it IS coronavirus outside. I would recommend this tour for history buffs!

Our guide for the tour was Alex! He was extremely knowledgeable, personable & well-versed in everything regarding the Old Town. Really appreciated how he constantly checked in with us to see if the format of the tour was good and how he could accommodate. He was able to answer all of our questions & provided a great overview where I felt we actually retained much of the information. Would recommend this tour to anyone looking to know a bit more about the old town beyond just visiting the “cute” streets.
