What you'll do

You'll have the opportunity to have an in-depth tour of artworks by contemporary artists and get a inside view of how to run an art gallery. I'll share the experience to work with various artists and curate exhibitions, and provide suggestions for beginning collectors. The experience will start with a tour of Fou Gallery's on-going exhibition, and I will introduce other artists and their works in the gallery. Then let's sit down and enjoy a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, accompanied by desserts. At the tea ceremony, I will present two different kinds of tea, Taiwan High mountain Oolong Tea and Orange Pu'er tea. We'll share the tea together and appreciate the various tea utensils made by artists. As the old saying goes, every encountering is once in a life time (Yi Qi Yi Hui, 一期一会). I hope this becomes an opportunity for us to talk about art, life, traveling and the unexpected encountering.

Learn more about Echo

Echo

I'm a curator, gallerist and writer in New York. In 2013, I co-founded Fou Gallery, an apartment gallery and creative lab in Brooklyn, which is considered as a notable model for alternative exhibition spaces, and an ecology that thrives outside of mainstream gallery culture. Fou Gallery received special Congressional Recognition in 2018 because of the large public art project The Song of Dragon and Flowers by artist Chen Dongfan. I'm also a prolific writer and regularly contributes to a variety of publications. Besides these, I'm a vintage hat maker and founded a vintage hat studio - Chapeau Echo.
