About your host

Hi, I'm Terin! I work as a private guide in Kyoto and run my own tour company, but my secret dream is to become a wagashi master. I just can't get enough of these special little snacks, and I find both the creation process and overall design really fascinating and fun. I've been making wagashi at this shop for a few years now, and it's one of my favorite hands-on activities in Kyoto. We'll be…

What to bring

Please consider NOT wearing bracelets and rings, as they may get in the way or get sticky.

Where you'll be

Our wagashi experience will take place at one of Kyoto's most famous sweet shops. This place has been around for generations, and its cultural connection to the neighborhood is strong. Since I've been here so many times over the years, I'm friendly with the staff and know the owner. They often ask me if I'm tired of making wagashi yet since I've done it so many times (I don't know if they think I'm crazy or want to hire me).
