What you'll do

I want to invite you for PIEROGI COOKING CLASS to my private apartment located in the city center.

We will start slow with freshly homemade sweet buns, tea and conversation. I will tell you about Krakow, jewish district and history of the buidling that I live in (I am working on a documentary about the owners).

Then we will make traditional polish dumplings (using my family recipe) with cheese and potatoe and sweet ones with the fruits. I will be explaining you all the steps and also telling you stories about all the products, polish customs and my personal experiences. Don't worry, if you don't cook much - I am here to help you and guide you. I promise you - you will make delicious pierogi!

At the end we will eat pierogi with my Mom's pickles and talk more about history, politics, culture, people, traditions of my country and anything you are interested in. Every guest will get my e-book "Travel to Poland from your kitchen" with recipes for pierogi and other traditional polish meals and my recommendations for what to do in the area.
Other things to note
Pierogi are vegetarian, but not vegan (cheese, butter)
Please message me, if you would like a class for a group bigger than 4 or to have a class in a diffrent time.

I am on the mission to show people what is best in my city and country and I do it in a few diffrent ways.

I am an author of e-book with polish recipes "Travel to Poland from your kitchen" and I am currently writting a travel guide for Krakow. I am also working on a documentary about my building and it's owners. I create content about Krakow (articles, videos and social media) to help people discover the best spots. I also work as a guide or translator for people with diffrent personal projects (shooting a promo video, organizing house concert, help people with polish origin to find their relatives).

I am also a big foodie and believe that there is no better way to learn about new place, but around the table and my biggest joy is to be a host and tell stories.

Where you'll be

I host the class and the dinner in my apartment in Kazimierz - jewish district. The buidling I live in is owned by a jewish man who surrvived the war in Krakow and is 100 years old (!). I had an honor to interviewed him about his experience and family and I am currently working on a documenatry about it. My apartment is a typical Cracow-style apartment with high cellings and wooden floor full of decorations from all over Poland.

We loved our pierogi cooking class with Karina! Not only did she teach us how to make delicious food, but she also provided historical information on Krakow, Kazimierz, and the building she lives in. Most of all, she is extremely passionate about teaching her students how to cook and does so with lots of enthusiasm. This is a must-do experience while in Krakow! Thank you again, Karina!

Karina was so welcoming and shared wonderful stories of her friends and family growing up in Poland. She was patient and fun while describing the pierogi-making process, and they were delicious! Would definitely recommend this experience.

This pierogi course was the highlight of our entire trip to Poland. Amazing food, storytelling, and laughs, Karina made us feel like we were part of her family. We learned so much, not only about pierogis, but about the history of Krakow and the Jewish district where she lives and where the course takes place. Afterwards, we received written recipes of what me made, plus many other Polish dishes. Might we add.. the pierogis were absolutely incredible. Truly the best we have ever had. Nothing compares to the love and joy we put into the food alongside Karina and we will always treasure the experience and memories we made. We cannot wait to make these for our friends back in Berlin! Thank you, Karina!!!! Josh & Jess xx

Karina was really great and we felt very much at home in her company. Loved the stories of family, the people of the city and the country. Really recommend this experience for a personal introduction to Polish culture and urban lifestyle.
