Coffee plays a big role in our drinks, so it is getting obvious for us to have a coffee, but how many of us cares about which coffee we are drinking? Coffee is more than our daily drink. I am Thi from Vietnam, the 2nd largest coffee exporting country in the world. I have been working in F&B, especially in coffee industry for more than 5 years and from the beginning until now, I found many interesting things about this black holy grail, not just black or strong or bitter when you think about Vietnamese Coffee. I want to share with you all my amazing experience about coffee when you are in Viet Nam :D

We had the most wonderful time with Thi in her Cafe. First of all the location of her cafe is a safe, peaceful haven from the hustle and bustle of Saigon. Located at the end of a small alley, in the open and perfectly shaded by trees. After a welcome sandwich and drink we went straight into the world of coffee. First smelling different types of coffee: From dry ground to wet ground coffee, to the ready coffee in a cup. Than the tasting. So many different flavors, because of so many different reasons. Thi knows and explains so much about coffee, it was really a whole new world of knowledge and tastes that opened up to us. Next step: Brewing coffee vietnamese style ourselves. That was real fun. Thi as a person is just wonderful, so open, friendly and full of humor, we laughed a lot together. At the end we got a vietnamese coffee filter to take home with us. What a nice present to remember and practise! People out there, book this experience and get to Thi!

Must do for any coffee lover! I left the coffee experience much more educated in coffee from where it is grown, how to grade coffee, coffee flavour profiles, and how to make the best Vietnamese coffee. Thi was a great host and even specially made cashew milk for us when we told her we were vegan. Such a great personal touch (and the milk was delicious!!).

Thi was so sweet and so knowledgeable! I learned a lot about coffee in general and more specifically about its history and relevance/impact on Vietnam. I really loved getting the chance to make our own coffees. They also served a very nice banh mi to start, and then gave us each a Vietnamese phin filter to take home at the end. Such a well done experience and I couldn’t recommend any higher!

Thi coffee experience is definitely something you don’t want to miss out on! The cafe is a beautiful location and the coffee knowledge and history of Vietnamese coffee Thi shared with us during the coffee tasting was very informative. The experience was made even better by getting to taste multiple coffees, and learn how to and make our own coffee at the end. This was so sweet and thoughtful. Highly recommend this experience!
