What you'll do

Walk through some of the most prettiest and planned parts of Panjim that have a past that is relevant even today. Witness the natural heritage as you amble along the canopy of trees in Campal. Notice the stark contrast of the planning and layout within the city of Panjim, for instance the planned nature of Campal along with the attractive colorful old buildings, the tree lined avenues and green spaces compared to the narrow lanes of colorful houses with wrought iron railings in older wards and the more recent developments post 1961.

On the tour we interact with some of the custodians of this rich heritage as they narrate their experiences, the unique perspectives and traditions that are in practiced even today. Get insights into the different species of flora brought to Goa by the Portuguese. Meet a warm Goan musician who will bring back to life the good old times of serenading in the band stands, which reflects the importance of music in the Goan lifestyle.

I would recommend this tour to anyone outside of North Goa looking to learn more about its history. It was very personalized and our host was great.

As tourists we often encounter trips providing a lot of information in a concentrated form, however this experience gives a peek into the soul of Campal and leaves you curious for more. After the tour the entire area seemed alive because we had related to its past and it's present. The host was friendly, easy going, at the same time informative. We had all extremes of age in our group (10year old and 74 year old) and all could enjoy it and complete it with ease. A big thanks to the founders of Make it Happen for envisioning this and making it happen!

Lata Rodrigues was a great host, she greeted us with a warm friendly smile on a really hot day. I loved the fact that she was really enthusiastic about sharing information with us even though we were just 2 adults and 2 kids. She patiently listened to and answered some of the questions my kids asked. Attention to details in small things such as including a music performance by Francis (local artist) at the band stand in the gardens and a visit to the Chapel inside Maquinez Palace were really delightful and unexpected. Would definitely recommend this tour.
