What you'll do
First we will welcome the visitors, offer them coffee or any other type of refreshments. The experience itself is about looking at a tremendous collection of posters and other type of graphic work, as this is taking place we will fill in any blanks about the history of the political struggle that took place in Chile. We will finish the experience offering a lunch to our guests and having a afterlunch conversation.
I am an activist of Human Rights and an advocate of maintainning the history of the resistance to the dictatorship of Pinochet. I do live in a Cultural Center, the oldest in Chile; Taller Sol, where this experience will take place. We do neighborhood and grassroots type of work. We are self supported and we are looking forward to having more visitors. We will go through a fine selection of graphic work realized under dictatorship. As we go through them the history of the struggle unfolds. This is not mass media neither the official story. The years around this archive had given me a level of expertise. The director of the center is one of the artists depicted in the posters. So whenever I have a question I go straight to the source. Having grown up around this political propaganda I can share the feeling and emotion of yesteryears...
