About your host

I have worked in tourism for over ten years and I have extensive experience working with visitors to the area. I've been a keen hillwalker and natural historian since I was very young and there's not much I don't know about the area we'll be exploring on your AirBnb experience.

What we’ll do

We'll meet at my house in Drumnadrochit before taking the 'high road' out of Drumnadrochit towards the Balmacaan and Craigmonie Woods. What else you should know

The path is mostly good quality singletrack and forest path and there is a fair amount of ascent involved so a reasonable amount of fitness is required.

What to bring

Walking boots or good quality Welly boots
Waterproof jacket

Where you'll be

A glacial kettle - remains of the last ice age where a large piece of ice likely got stuck, melted and left a distinctive bowl in the ground. Craigmonie Viewpoint, the highpoint of our walk affording great views over Urquhart bay, Loch Ness and Drumnadrochit.
