What you'll do

Discover the gorgeous scenery and wildlife of the Wadden Sea's dynamic mudflats while enjoying transport, meals and lodging from a two-sail catamaran in dutch sailingsaison. Tides make this trip in four days only possible when the wind is in the right corner on the right day and is above the seven knots. So question is can we sail the trip as planned? What choices does nature give us? How much sun, rain, wind do we get? Waves.. or a mirrow sea? Seals, how many do we see? What birds do we know? We sleep on anchor or dry out during the nights! Because we are sailing over the mudflats this trip is unique. There have to be enough water on the mudflats to sail. So from Den Helder to Vlieland. Sailing in 18 hours over the mudflats in the sailingsaison is only possible for us once a mouth. We keep fingercrossed the wind is in the rightcorner those four days. Starting in the seaside city of Den Helder, we'll set across the mudflats for the island of Vlieland to explore the village of Oost-Vlieland by bicycle. Walk on mudflats. Sleep three nights on sea.sail four days. Enjoy the sunset and moonlight at sea each evening. We'll visit a lighthouse and a technology museum to learn to complexities of Dutch engineering. On our final day we may take a swim, sail on IJsselmeer Lake and head back to navy town Den Helder.
