Rovaniemi, Finland

Experience hosted by Jukka

What you'll do

We will pick you up from Rovaniemi and take you out of the city centre by car. We drive about 25 km to a peaceful cabin to observe the northern lights/aurora borealis, and hope we are lucky enough to see them. The trip is exclusive, there will not be anyone else around. We also make a camp fire and enjoy some snacks and warm drinks. Afterwards, we take you back to the centre. This excursion lasts about 3-4 hours.
Other things to note
There is no running water or bathroom indoors at the cabin. Before going to the cabin, we can stop by at our house if needed.

I have enjoyed nature since childhood and done a variety of things in there, such as hunting. My passion is to guide people and tourists, and I want to share our unique culture and nature, therefore, I want to offer this type of service. I have good social skills and I have already learned to be with different kind of people. I founded my own company in 2017 for this purpose.

The tour was super nice, and very personal. Was able to taste some traditional food and drink inside a warm hut after we were cold from viewing the northern lights.

Amazing evening on the frozen lake, under the stars, with Aurora Borealis showing up "on time" and dancing in the sky. Our hosts/guides Eerik and Pam were super friendly, funny and accommodating. Would highly recommend even if the "lights would not turn on"

The experience was fantastic, first Jukka ask if we could go a day eariler as good weather. We are happy to proceed and awesome. we managed to catch the aurora after different locations of unsuccessful hunting due to clouds. Thanks to Erik and Pam who was hosting the aurora hunting. Erik never gave up and drives us to at least 5 locations before we saw the aurora on the last 2 spots. Pam was very friendly and she takes good photos for us on her DSIR and send to us too. We also have a small BBQ session while waiting for Aurora!!! Thanks to the team.

Jukka was exceptional. He went above and beyond accommodating our group and was a delight. He was concerned with the road conditions in some areas and made sure to steer clear for our safety, having back up locations. After trying two spots, he mentioned he wanted to try one more spot for us and we were lucky enough to see the Auroras with Jukka. He even took a great candid picture for us when we were watching the auroras. I spent a lot of time researching aurora tours and ended up choosing Jukka. I am so happy we did. I will recommend him to any family and friends going to Lapland and hope to be back to see him again in the future.

He’s so nice and accommodating. Though we weren’t able to see the Aurora, he tried to look for the best spot and tried to go somewhere else jus for us to be able to experience it.
