About your host

I have been teaching skiing for 20 years, chasing the best mountains and looking for the most interesting terrain. I have lived on 4 different continents, working at world class resorts and competing in both freeride and freestyle competitions. I am a skier and focus on the pleasure of going down the mountain, using technique to make the experience more satisfying.

What we’ll do

Nozawa Onsen offers many unique experiences to the travelers. I will be guiding you around the ski resort to introduce the best areas and teach you the skills and knowledge to ski there. Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort had an amazing off-piste terrain that can offer powder for weeks after a snow fall, if you know where to look for it. After skiing, we will enjoy a cold beverage by the fireplace before…

What else you should know

This is an advanced skiers/snowboarders experience but can be adapted to all levels of skier, training you to get the adequate level of skills. I also offer beginner lessons.

What I’ll provide

Food
an appetizer + a drink for the apresski at a cool local spot

What to bring

Ski/snowboard equipment (powder skis recommended, I can help with the selection if needed)
Warm clothes
Avalanche equipment strongly recommended
Towel and soap for onsen after skiing. Storage will be provided.

Where you'll be

The tour starts from bcd, a local restaurant where we can grab some pastries to get us some energy for the day. From there we will be heading up the hill. I will evaluate your skill level and provide you with some tips before heading off-piste. I will take you to the best on-hill restaurants for lunch before going for a second serving of powder. Next stop will be back at bcd, where we can relax by the fireplace before heading to the onsen.
