What you'll do
Our beautiful loop starts with a scenic cliff-side stroll towards our first beach - Mistra. At the far end of the bay we scoot around the 260 year old Mistra Battery and make our way to St Paul's Islands. It is said that St Peter was shipwrecked here in 60AD. The undulating path from here offers a fun mix of rock, gravel and clay.
Between cliff and sea, we slip down onto a lesser known trail which guides us along the coast until we reach our second beach - the far quieter and less easily accessible - Imgiebah. We can stop here for a short break to enjoy the view and lapping waves before starting our journey back inland. A narrow country road winds its way back up the valley to the dominating feature in the area - Selmun Palace. We then follow a narrow passage back down the hill to Mistra Bay and finish off our panoramic adventure at our starting point in Xemxija.
A small shop and a cafe can be found near our meeting point should you wish buy any snacks or request to use their bathroom.
Please keep in mind that while suitable for any experience level, our route won't be flat and will involve some scrambling up and down clay slopes, so be prepared for a good leg workout! Also, if it has rained heavily in the past day or two, the path can also become particularly muddy, so your shoes may need a good scrub afterwards.
I look forward to walking with you!
Other things to note
Please note that some sections of trail involve short, semi-steep climbs on uneven ground. This walk is, however, suitable for all fitness levels and requires no previous hiking experience.

I love the outdoors. A fitness instructor by trade, I studied with one of the UK’s leading Fitness schools and am the founder of my own Adventure Training company. During the past decade I have explored the highest regions of the Andes, taken part in 11 major mountain expeditions to Africa and walked across three countries.
I love little more than sharing a day in nature with others, with a particular fondness for local coastal hikes and am always eager to showcase Malta's most beautiful trails!

Where you'll be
Our hike explores trails even most locals have not yet set foot on. A mix of tranquil rocky paths, clay slopes and panoramic island views makes this loop the perfect way to experience the best the Maltese coast has to offer.

David introduced us to a trail that Would have not been anywhere popularly mentioned online and had thoughtfully provided a mileage of participation from the route he has designed for this hike, more like a choose-your-adventure-type for us. For that alone, this hike has already reached its value. David being Very insightful on pieces of information Associated with the route and interesting Maltese trivia, it definitely helped appreciated the view and the structural pieces we have seen along the way. I Love the Fact that he is Funny and is relatable to each of his Group members for this hike. He is engaging and Very easy to get along with.
This is one my best short hikes to Date - not too tiring, mileage is perfect, the trail is varied, and the views are spectacular, and the company was great. I could have not appreciated Malta in the way that. I have seen that from that angle. And best of all, I had a great time and had so much fun!!!!!
