Satoko was very knowledgeable and accommodating. I would 100% recommend going on this experience if you want a more in-depth knowledge about sake.

A wonderful night on the town! Satoko was very knowledgeable about sake and showed us a local sake bar that we likely would have never discovered on our own.

I thoroughly recommend this experience for anyone wanting to learn more about nihonshu whilst their in Tokyo. Satoko is an amazing host with a wealth of knowledge and both venues were cool in their own way.

Please, do yourself a favor and book this experience if you can. Satoko is not only incredibly knowledgeable about sake, she is also a warm and thoughtful teacher and host who was happy to answer all of our questions and really made us feel at home throughout. Neither the tour nor the sake will disappoint, and you will leave having a better understanding of the manufacturing process as well as the spectrum of flavors you can taste between different bottles. We had so much fun and can't recommend this tour enough!

This was an amazing experience. Satoko was very informed and passionate about sake. She took the time to share with me so much knowledge in a digestible way. The last stop was a true highlight. I enjoyed putting the lessons to use in a sake bar while meeting new people. Highly recommend!

Whether you’re a major sake aficionado or just curious to learn more about Japan’s national drink, Satoko’s tour is a really cool way to not only find out about this delicious beverage but take a peek inside a lovely laid-back local Tokyo neighborhood, too. A sake fan for several years, I realized I knew next to nothing about the fermentation process (more complex than you might imagine for such a seemingly simple drink), nor just how many different types of sake there are –– hello, aged sake! Satoko was warm, friendly and engaging to speak with – as you would expect for a Certified Sommelier, she was incredibly knowledgeable, yet explained things in a fun and approachable way. I liked that the tour started at the Japan Sake & Shochu Makers Association in Shinbashi with an informative intro, tasting flight and conversation, before a quick subway ride to an eastern suburb and local sake bar or “kaku-uchi’. For me, wandering down the street to the Fukagawa Fudoson temple, and then hanging out in this local neighborhood spot – sampling sakes, enjoying bar snacks with Satoko and chatting to our table neighbors was a real highlight, not just of the tour but my time in Tokyo overall. Thanks again for a wonderful experience, Satoko. Hope to see you next time!
