What you'll do

I invite you to know one of the best experiences in the category "Knowledge" of Airbnb in Buenos Aires!

In this experience, while we talk about key historical facts to understand Argentina, mainly the Peronist government, we will visit the city places where they took place. We will go from the Luna Park, where the loving relationship between Juan Domingo Peron and Evita began, and we will arrive to the Recoleta Cemetery, (this part is at the discretion of the Government's authorization, it may be closed by regulations related to COVID) passing by the Plaza de Mayo, the Casa Rosada, the Buenos Aires's Cathedral, and the Eva Perón Foundation used to work. From a unique perspective, we will explore that relationship of love and power that represents the central milestone in the History of Argentina. We will visit amazing places and explaind details of facts that are fundamental to understand this country
Other things to note
We will walk approximately 4 km. BA has an average of precipitations higher to London, reason why the experience will not be postponed by drizzles. In case of heavy rains, the activity will be postponed for the next day

Where you'll be

The starting point will be Luna Park, the mythical stadium of Buenos Aires, where Perón and Evita met for the first time. We will continue visiting the Plaza de Mayo, while there we will have a friendly talk, answer some questions and we will see the Casa Rosada with its famous balcony. Then we will procede along few streets towards the south, to take a look to the monument of Juan Domingo Perón and to visit the Eva Perón Foundation. After returning to Plaza de Mayo and visiting the Cathedral, we will head (by subway) towards the fascinating Cemetery of Recoleta

Like most people from the US, I know embarrassingly little about Argentinian politics and history. After taking Claudio's tour, I am blown away by how much I learned in a short period of time and how deeply fascinating the Peronista movement is. He is a great storyteller and the stops on the tour truly give you a sense of place. I was completely swept up in the experience, and I recommend it highly.

This is the BEST way to get to know the city of Buenos Aires. Claudio is an enchanting story-teller, sharing the city’s history in every sense, the most haunting, the most interesting, the most prideful. He is so personable, friendly, and caring of his guests, and we really enjoyed the small group size and being able to ask questions comfortably. We loved having a local and charismatic guide like Claudio and would absolutely recommend him with all 5 stars to anyone looking to get to know the city in depth!

Claudio, thank you for such an interesting tour, you were a knowledgeable and entertaining host and Vanesa and I really enjoyed the experience. Perhaps it was too long over four hours and we’d suggest you reduce the tour to three hours including a half hour coffee break at the half-way mark ... we’re sorry we missed the cemetery denouement (although we had already visited Evita’s mausoleum) and maybe your next guests might share a taxi with you to Recoleta to reduce the walking! Overall we loved meeting you and sharing your passion for the whole Perón saga. kind regards Jonathan and Vanesa

Great experience walking around micro centro, San Telmo and recoleta cemetery! Claudio had great insights on the history of Argentina in general, of Buenos Aires and of course the love story of Evita and Peron. Definitely recommended to everyone visiting BA!

Absolutely fantastic. This is my second time taking this tour with him (the first time I went with friends, this time with my parents), and he was just as great as the first time. Claudio is very engaging and very knowledgeable about all the topics he discusses. I highly recommend this tour for an overview of Evita and Juan Perón, as well as a great look at Buenos Aires overall.
