What you'll do

Culinary walk with a local food expert

We'll go on a culinary walk and see Milan through the lens of food. I'll help you discover local culture and traditions—some of which are not even known by locals. I'll help bring the history of this city to life with stories, images, smells, and small tasting experiences.

We'll stop to visit local shops for tastings of several Milanese delicacies. I'll share the significance of each one and explain how food is tied to the history and culture of the city.

I'm an architect with a strong passion for everything related to food and the city. I've lived in Milan since the summer of 2012 and I love to discover new places. Food is my profession. I often host chefs, curious tourists, urban explorers, and food lovers who come to Milan for inspiration to bring back home.

Where you'll be

We start the tour in Brera, the historic center that's loved by the Milanese but less discovered by tourists. From Brera, we'll make our way to the modern developments of Porta Garibaldi near the old city gate.

Inge is a knowledgeable and cheerful guide. The small shops we visited all included thorough introductions by the shop owners. Highly recommended if you are interested in the norther part of town.

It was an enjoyable tour but it fell a little below my expectations and frankly I thought the experiences we got did not quite cover the price we paid. But Inge was very nice and eager to answer all our questions throughout the tour, for that we are very grateful :)

I liked the tour a lot. With Roy explaining us a bit of Milanese history and food tasting it was easy to travel back in time... at least with my mind. I also liked the group. I guess I was simply lucky with that.

Inge helped me to see the city a few hundred years ago and how and why it developed the way it did. Very interesting and found some lovely small independent shops which sold excellent produce.
