What you'll do

Most visitors to Barra de Potosí go to the beach, drink a coconut, eat some guacamole, have a nice swim and go home. We want to give you a glimpse into the heart of the village - our homes. Mexican women rule, and we'd like to introduce you to a few. You'll learn how to prepare tortillas over a traditional comal, and side by side, you will prepare a Mexican comida together to enjoy. Meet the whole family and learn about village life at the kitchen table, where all of the most important things in life get discussed.

Kat, Avi, Chely, Raul & Friends

We live and work in the village of Barra de Potosí and LOVE connecting local women with visitors! We know from personal experience that the tastiest food in the world comes from inside these women's kitchens and it is so much fun to give you a peek inside a village home and hands on experience preparing an authentic Mexican meal. Since we started the Whales of Guerrero project here 6 years ago, we've been connecting visitors with this special community and it will be our joy and delight to introduce you, as well.

About the organisation

Whales of Guerrero / Oceanic Society

The Whales of Guerrero transforms relationships between people and nature through programs that inspire and empower. We're sponsored under the 501(c)3 of Oceanic Society, whose mission is to improve ocean health by deepening the connections between people and nature to address the root cause of its decline: human behavior.

This is a social impact experience where 100% of what you pay for this experience goes to Whales of Guerrero / Oceanic Society.
