What you'll do

You will arrive at our place where you will be shown our organic farm and served with a cold drink before being briefed and given a choice of the food you want to taste. You will have a few options to have breakfast or brunch or lunch or tea. The restaurants are nearby our place which is an Airbnb homestay with a library. We will pick the food according to your dietary needs and tastebuds (they serve spicy food here).

We will set up the picnic depending on the weather. If the weather is perfect, you will be brought to a pond where there are bamboos and foliage for you to picnic under. We will bring the food in a tiffin carrier with a spicy yellow chilli dish called masak lemak cili api. You can choose to have chicken, beef or vegetables. We will also served you lots of vegetables freshly picked from our farm. We will then proceed to show you our 10-acre farm which has rubber trees, palm oil trees and agar woods.

If you have kids they can run around safely and we will set up tents for them to play around or just laze around. We will string up hammocks and there are jungles to be explored. All in an area safely fenced and cleared.

Be prepared to be sweaty with the running around, playing with cats and then eat until you cannot eat anymore. We are not in Kuala Lumpur so be prepared to travel if you are staying in the city.
Other things to note
As Malaysia has a temperate weather there are 3 choices for the picnic :
1) If it is sunny, under foliage of the trees at PUDGi (our place)
2) An open kitchen facing the trees (if the weather is overcast or might rain or rain)
3) If it is rainy and windy, in the library (300 square feet of it)

My wife, Nani and I moved to this rural suburb as it is close to my roots where the food is amazing. This kampung (village) is known to have a very long history of food which are well-known to be fresh and made with love by people living here. We are foodies and travellers who have tasted food in various part of the world including India, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Melbourne and London. We know what people want out of food and we think nature is a great setting for a picnic

We have hosted people for rubber tapping and ghost story sessions and we want to share the food we ate with visitors to the area which we know so well. We know people want to get away for a picnic so we want to share the food here picnic style so you can get the best of Malaysian food in a natural setting. This 10 acre land is a delightful place to eat and explore.

Thank you Khairul and Nani for organizing this picnic-experience & a very warm welcome from them. The picnic get-together is so much fun under the sun & the food provided by the host are delicious. I had the opportunity mingling around with other guests as well. My personal favourite space of the event non-other than the hammock, so relaxing! Will come back to Pudgi for more airbnb experiences.

It was a great and highly unique event that I attended with other guests who came to enjoy a sunny afternoon picnic under the rubber trees. Nani, the host, was super friendly and warm. She also told us about the history of the Kampung Giching. The picnic is quite a drive from Kuala Lumpur but trust me, the company, food and venue made it worth the drive. We were served scrumptious traditional foods like rendang, durian stew (pengat durian) and assortment of cakes (kuehs) paired with thirst-quenching iced drinks. Lovely experience, would do so again!

Because it was still the month of Eid, we had picnic with festivity food such as lemang and rendang. Everything was homemade and delicious. A lovely spread. It was nice to get to know other guests and close friends of Khairul & Nani.
