What you'll do

The Royal National Park has a range of beautiful natural formations including freshwater pools, forests, waterfalls, lagoons, cliffs, beaches and rock platforms. The main event for the day is a bushwalk to Wedding Cake Rock. This walk requires a reasonable level of fitness and takes around 2 hours return (including breaks). The walk is for small groups, maximum of six. We meet at the Rocks and after driving to the park the first stop is at Audley Weir followed by Bundeena where we start our bushwalk to Wedding Cake Rock. The Rock is a spectacular white sandstone formation. On the way we will see heathland, native flowers, cliff views from the Balconies and many other locations, and get close to the ocean at the Waterrun. We may even get lucky and see a whale. After the walk it is time for a picnic lunch. We then head to Wattamolla, a very pretty waterfall, lagoon and beach. At Wattamolla we will do a short bushwalk (around 15 minutes each way) to experience yet more of this wonderful coastline. If we have time, depending on our walk times, we may squeeze in a quick look at Garie Beach. The day takes around six and half hours. Please note: Wedding Cake Rock is unstable and has a fence around it for the safety of visitors. Visitors to the rock are required to stay behind the fence.

Greg

Hi, I will be your Sydney Nimble Tour guide in the Royal National Park. I have travelled extensively and have a good feel for what does and doesn't work on a tour. Having lived in Sydney for many years provides a solid background for showing visitors around. I have been to every location visited by Sydney Nimble Tours, researched and written all of the blogs (over 30), taken website photographs and charted out the tours. A national park is a great place to have an office! My hobbies include bushwalking, surfing and photography. The most rewarding part of taking a small group is getting to know the people you are with and for me these interactions are the highlight of the day. Join me for fun day out in the Royal National Park.
