What you'll do

In this visit, you'll have a great sensorial experience through coffee and senses, also the appreciation of the country workers of its muleteer culture known as Santa Elena's Arrieros. We start at the previously agreed meeting spot where we take a particular car that drives us to the farm. Once we arrive there will be a delicious Natural Juice and our Wellcome Dessert. After that we begin the visit to Casa Blanca (white house) using the proper attire (hat, poncho, and basket) so we can learn about the Colombian Coffee process (seeding, collecting, peeling and drying) this 4 stages that you will be participating and learning step by step with your own hands. At the end of the 4th stage will have some homemade typical countryside lunch, cook with or very own ground vegetables. And for last we'll be tasting each of every coffee variety and our special tee made of the peel of the coffee peel. There's also a stairway known as El Camino de la Vida (life pathway), that each step was wood made in between of an ecological landscape that connects Metro Cable H line, Buenos Aires Metro Trolley, and then back to the starting point.

Where you'll be

We will visit through the subway some tourist places of the city of Medellín and at the end of the transport route we will continue tour towards the coffee farm * “white house” * where real coffee growers will be received by the usuga family, contemplating the nature and coffee culture walk through the Path of life (750 wooden scales) that connects to the H line cable meter, having lunch in nature in a country way.

Mi hermana, Teddy (mi perrito) y yo tuvimos una experiencia mágica con esta hermosa, cálida y genuina familia ¡Una auténtica experiencia paisa! Esta familia se dedica desde hace más de 100 años a cultivar el café y es hermoso ver padres e hijas dedicados al mismo oficio y apoyándose en hacer crecer su marca Media Luna y su proyecto Casa Blanca. Nos recibieron en su bella casa ubicada dentro del mismo cafetal en lo alto de las montañas alrededor de Medellin. Al llegar Norelba nos recibió con rico jugo de Lulo recién hecho y pastel de chocolate, que disfrutamos mientras nos explicaba sobre la producción del café. De ahí nos fuimos a vivir el proceso completo. Aprendimos a recoger el fruto, seleccionarlo y clasificarlo, prepararlo para secar, tostar y moler, con todas las variables en medio que crean los diferentes tipos de cafés, sabores y aromas. Al final, visitamos la huerta orgánica de Rubiola, una mujer llena de amor por la naturaleza y sabiduría innata. Volvimos a la casa para aprender a colar el café y experimentar la diferencia entre los diferentes tipos de café de origen y el comercial. Degustamos todas las variedades que ellos producen. ¡Terminamos con un almuerzo casero espectacular con ingredientes de su huerta e intercambio de recetas! Cabe destacar que Norelba adaptó el menú a nuestro requerimiento de vegano y estaba delicioso. La experiencia fue extraordinaria, aprendimos y disfrutamos el arte del café, conocimos gente inigualable, cominos delicioso y la pasamos muy bien. Recomendado 100% para una verdadera experiencia cafetera y gastronómica.

Laura, Tatiana, and The Mom were spectacular. They give you an amazing vibe and fantastic food and coffee. they even gave me sugar. They honestly made me feel like family and I wish I could hug them since they made me feel such at home.

Laura's family is the only coffee farmer in Santa Elena area. The view from the farm is terrific. Laura and her friend Tatiana are the most geniune, pleasant person I met in this trip. Laura loves coffee and knows every about it. I tasted some best coffee in my life and even picked a bucket of coffee myself. This tour is a gem in Medellin. I highly recommend this unique and personal experience.

Laura was super original, very kind. She took us to her parent's farm and explained the process of coffee cultivation from the seed to the roasting. She is very knowledgeable and kind. We were even served a welcome juice and a lunch later. Definitely the best value coffee trip in Medellín.
