What you'll do

Sightjogging (3.7 miles) through Tours, the capital city of the Loire Valley, with a licensed tourguide.
The city called Tours is known to be the most historical and beautiful town in the Loire Valley. It is the cradle of the French Renaissance.
Let's hear all my tips about restaurants, bars, wine tastings and activities in other parts of the Loire Valley (ex which castle to tour first, how to get there, what not to miss once there etc)
The flat and easy jog I created is for everybody.
Jog duration: 1h30
We meet at the tourism office of the town called Tours, 78 rue Bernard Palissy, 37000 Tours.
Beginning of the jog.
Highlights of the visit are:
- cathedral
- river banks and bridges
- medieval and renaissance city centre
- Saint Martin basilica
Other things to note

I will be carrying a backpack to put your small valuables in.

I have been working as a licensed tour guide for 20 years.
In love with the region where I was born and with the town I live in, Tours, cradle of French Renaissance, I created this tour in order to share my passions. Indeed, I practice sports daily (running, crossfit, cycling...) and am passionate about history and architecture. During the tour, I will also be happy to give you lots of tips about where to eat and drink, my other passion.

Where you'll be

The river banks and bridges of the wild Loire river in order to spot rare birds (I am a bird watcher and worked two years on a boat on the Loire river).
The old historical city centre in order to understand medieval and Renaissance architecture and to see unique spots (unknown to most visitors) (for example, the shop where Joan of Arc had her suit of armour made, or the passage way leading to the execution square.
The 12th gothic cathedral.

Simon was an excellent guide. His passion for the history of Tours is evident. He was professional and respectful of the Covid regulations. We kept a great pace during the jog and I would certainly recommend this to anyone visiting the city.

Wonderful start to the day with a nice jog and some history and culture of Tours. We hit most of the big sites in town and got some time to enjoy the Loire River. Simon is passionate about sharing knowledge and is very considerate of pace on the run.

We had a great time on this tour. Simon was very enthusiastic and you could tell he loves what he is doing. My boys, aged 15 & 11, found this much more enjoyable than a regular walking tour or van tour. Simon told us about the city as well as the wildlife along the Loire. We got a good overview of the city and went places we wouldn’t have gone on our own, for fear of getting lost.

Simon’s running tour was an excellent way to see the city! We saw all of the major sites, learned about the city’s history, and ran with a great and friendly guide. Simon was welcoming and humorous as well as knowledgeable and considerate. He also gave us numerous recommendations for our subsequent days in the city, which were great! This running tour is a must for active people looking for a new way to see a city! We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tours for the first time!

This was an amazing experience in Tours with a local expert guide from Tours. Simon made the running part seamless, so I never felt I had to think about where we were. I could “look up” and enjoy. He would also tell me about the sites and their history which I quite enjoyed. Little tidbits and context make what you’re looking at come alive. Then the tasting - we went to the market and I went back later to get some local food, but we also had a refreshing wine and some charcuterie. Very nice and classic morning that I would probably have been afraid to do on my own. A fantastic way to get active in a new city when on vacation. I would highly recommend this experience with Simon in Tours. Having visited many cities with many boring walking tours, it was nice to have an exciting and active tour (read: not boring!) that I honestly really enjoyed!
