What you'll do

You will die, a half dozen times, in the Arizona desert. In photos, at least. We hit the trail for a 90 minute nature walk and photo extravaganza! But, be careful . . . the desert can kill ya! Your friends will think you're crazy, when they see your pics from the desert! "You couldn't just pose NEXT to a saguaro", your mom will ask. "You had to lay on a rock, to be sacrificed?" This year, we will have amazing blooms, from the abundance of rain. We always have plenty of thorns, rocks, hawks and coyote. The birds love it and so do the predators who eat the birds! Everything about the desert is gorgeous! It even smells great! The rocks are lovely. Just make sure you aren't bowled over, or tripped, by one. The statuesque saguaro just love posing for the camera. Put your arms around it, for a great big hug! Spiny, long needles? It'll only hurt for a minute. Hold still. Say 'Cheese'! There are always quite a few birds. Eagles. Hawks. Cactus Wren, Road Runners and more. You'll enjoy the flashes of color, as the warbler darts from bush to branch. If we get lucky, we'll run into Chuck, the chuckwalla. The second largest lizard, native to Arizona. If he's not feeling photogenic, he'll try to run us off. Yep! It's happened to me. Let me introduce you to the surly little fella. No matter what, we'll enjoy our trek through the desert and get some fun shots while dodging spiny thorns.

The desert is beautiful and it can kill ya. We'll take some 'different' photos. I'll show you what I enjoy about the desert. What to steer clear of and what I've learned, living here, since 1973. I hike 5 or 6 miles a week and love everything about the desert. Even the 120 degree heat.
