What you'll do

Textile block printing is a wonderful technique for printing on fabric that has been part of Indian culture for centuries. Choose from hundreds of carved wooden blocks and let your creativity run wild! After a chat about this fabulous art form, there will be a demonstration to show you the basic techniques you will need to start printing yourself. First up you will choose your colours and have a play on a test cloth to get a feel for how it's done. When you are ready you can get started printing your own tote bags (2) and cotton shawl that we provide. Taking home something you made is so satisfying and the process is lots of fun. It's a great way to immerse yourself a little deeper into Indian culture and gain insight into the local community.
