What you'll do

We will take you out early to beat the crowds, to capture a breathtaking sunrise from the shores of a Hawaiian beach. You will learn how to create epic content on your phone of the waves, surfers, and sparkling sand.

We have fun taking photos for Instagram, Tiktok, and your photo collection. Get up and start your vacation of fun with us!

After sunrise, we will head over to Makapu'u lookout for some epic panoramic photos. If you do not know how to do much with your camera, do not worry. We will be showing you have to take better photos so you can take the best photos on your vacation.

Hungry? We know you are. Before we head back home so you can enjoy the rest of your day, we will stop in a cool little store called the Kalapawi Cafe in Waimanalo. They have the best coffee, on us BTW, and the most amazing breakfast burritos ever!

Now you are ready to take the best photos during your vacation.

Note. The beach next to our coffee spot is epic. You can always bring some swimming shorts and spend the day there. The bus stops right there if you wanted to just stay. It's only $5.50 to get back to Waikiki.

We had a blast this morning!! Alex our host is super chill , friendly and very knowledgeable. He even helped us learn how to take epic pics of the sunrise!! He also gave us an extra tour on the way back of the area! We are definitely going to book again when we come back with the kids!! Mahalo Alex!!

What an excellent experience! I was looking at a few other tours these guys do but ultimately ended up taking the half-day sunrise tour. I thought it would be a great way to start my vacation and get epic photos. I was 100% correct. Alex was our guide, and he was classic from the start. Making everyone feel welcome and comfortable at 5:30 am was pretty dang good on his part. I was using a bigger camera as well as a few others. Some people in the group had a phone, but that didn't matter. We all walked away with mind-blowing photos. Alex also took pictures of us during the tour and later emailed us them for free. I would highly recommend taking this tour during the first of your vacation. Even though Airbnb Experiences has only been around for a few years, Alex and his crew have been taking out photo tours for ten years and have unreal reviews all across the web. Thank you for an epic day Alex :)

Our tour guide Mac was really welcoming and fun to be around! The rain was on and off the entire day but thankfully Mac was great with his radar(?) and we could dodge most of the rain :) We didn’t rent a car for our trip so this tour was more than needed. Mac’s recommendations of food spots, sunset spots, and just his energy overall made our trip to hawaii much more special and fun! Thank you for the wonderful tour!

We had THE BEST experience today with Kurt! Sunrise tour is most definitely worth the early rise :) My husband joined me mostly as a compromise..(he truly never takes pictures and literally survives with 32 GB on his iPhone.) That compromise quickly changed when we walked onto Sandy beach for sunrise. My husband went into full throttle picture taking mode within 5 minutes of meeting Kurt and getting great hands on advice. I've never seen him enjoy photography as much as he did today! I really didn't think I could learn much more about my iPhones camera capabilities but I was so wrong.. Kurt gave me a ton of new tips and tricks :) You can tell that this company really embodies Hawaiian culture. Kurt's genuine and authentic energy is contagious...We wish we had time for another tour! Thanks again :)

This experience leads you to some amazing places at the east coast. Though in my opinion you shouldn’t expect too much on improving your photography skills unless you are a complete beginner. It still is a cool experience for getting to know the island.
