What you'll do

Our huskies greet you at the farm and you will get acquainted with them while they run loose in the yard. You will get an introduction to dogsledding and how to handle the sled, warm clothes and all the knowledge you need for a day in the mountains. We harness up the teams, pack the sled with food and hot drinks and head into the valley. We cross rivers, and travel in the forest silently until we reach the mountain hills. We head up into the mountains for a great view, before having a lunch break, home made, and some hot drinks by a bonfire. We then steer the dogs and sleds back home to Skjomen. If the weather is nice, you will see both the sea and magnificent mountains of the area.

My husband is internationally certified mountainguide (IFMGA/IVBV/UIAGM) and I'm a geologist with education in avalanche rescue, wilderness first aid, leave-no-trace, and climbing instructor. We spend all our spare time in the mountains, rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing, ice climbing and dogsledding, we have together climbed in Patagonia, Peru, the Alps, and most mountains in Norway.
