About your host

I'm an archaeologist member of the Gruppo Archeologico Romano (The Archaeological Group of Rome) and host of the Airbnb Experience in Rome called "Archaeologist for a Day". I have a great passion for the discovery of the past and this city of mine where I was born and grew up, Rome; a passion I love to share and transmit.

About gruppo archeologico romano

Gruppo Archeologico Romano is an association of volunteering for the natural and cultural heritage born in 1963 from an idea by Ludovico Magrini to safeguard and enhance our territory. The activities of the association include: Archaeological research (excavations and documentation of materials); Training with specific courses; Learning through guided visits; Travels for cultural education.
This is a social impact experience where 100% of what you pay for this experience goes to gruppo archeologico romano. .

What we’ll do

We will relive the last day of life of Julius Caesar, retracing the path that led him to his tragic end. I will lead you from the place where Caesar was assassinated, back to his home, the Domus Publica located inside the Roman Forum. It's going to be a two hours and a half walk through Rome's historic downtown. We might stop during the trip for taking a brief rest: toilets will be available along the route in any bar/coffee shop

Where you'll be

We will begin our journey from the Largo Argentina area in the historical center of Rome. On foot we will continue through characteristic alleys to the square of Campo de Fiori where we will visit the basement of a contemporary art gallery. We will then head towards the Jewish Ghetto making a brief stop inside Palazzo Spada. The last part of the route will include the ascent to the Campidoglio with a breathtaking view of the Roman Forum.
