What you'll do

My canine companion and I will take you on an off-the-grid photo walk to the little known Boton falls inside Subic Bay Freeport Zone. I will ask you to leave all mobile devices behind, and we'll start our journey from a meet up point in town. I'll be photographing your experience along the way, so you can focus on enjoying the forest and the falls. It's a short 20 minute drive to the trailhead, where we'll gear up and start our leisurely trek down the hill to the waterfalls. Around 20 minutes in, with some stops for photos, you'll hear the sound of the water, which will mean we're nearing our destination. We'll see the waterfall from the top and take a peek at the jurassic looking taro leaves, then we'll hike down to the pool where we can relax, have a swim and a snack, take more photos, and rest for the hike back up to the car, where we'll load up and head back to town. I'll then share the images from the day with you via Dropbox after we part ways.

Tamara

I am a born and bred environmentalist. I love dogs, travel, surf, and I enjoy being in nature. I have been living in the rainforest for 5 years now with my husband Martin, who is a film Director, and our three dogs (Mojo, Luna, and Tedd). I'm a Cinematographer and Documentary Photographer by profession. Together, Martin and I have four decades of experience behind the lens. Water is our element, and we are most comfortable by the sea, or near any body of water. I am certified by the Red Cross for Water Safety. Martin grew up on a farm, and is accustomed to exploring all sorts of terrain.

Where you'll be

We will be hiking to the little known Boton Falls via a well tended path through the forest, inside SBFZ. I only run this experience in the dry season, when the forest is mild. The path goes down the hillside, and can be steep in some areas. You need good knees! There's a chance we'll see monkeys on the road going to the trailhead, but I have not seen them on the trail. The pool in the falls is clean and deep enough for swimming

Things to keep in mind

Cancellation policy

Any experience can be cancelled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase.

Communication policy

Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside the Airbnb website or app.

Guest requirements

Up to 4 guests aged 7 and up can attend.

Government ID

You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.

More tips

This is a walk, but it is downhill to the falls, and uphill again to the car. There are steps cut out on the side of the hill, so it's pretty easy to get up and down. Not for the weak-kneed!
