What you'll do
Having been welcomed into my workshop and shown some of my work we will then start a 'shou sugi ban' project which is the ancient Japanese art of preserving wood with fire
My passion & experience with restoration and creating goes back 30 years when I first started out in an antique metal workshop back home in the UK. Since then I've lived in three different continents and travelled in six and have always taken a keen interest in arts & crafts as varied as Aboriginal cave painting to wood carving in Bali to graffiti street art here in my adopted 'home' Barcelona. It's this city that inspired me to open my workshop and start designing and making tables. My style is very eclectic. Using a range of salvaged & sustainable materials including wood, metal & glass.
Water, Sprite, Coke.
Gloves & apron.
Where you'll be
The workshop is in the Sants neighborhood which is off the tourist trail but still in the city and a genuine Catalan gem close to Placa Espana. There is a great food market & some really nice authentic plazas as well as street art in the parks.
